I know you're not getting 50 mpg on your Prius. If you have actually checked it and calculated your mileage, I think you'll find it is below what the digital display says it is. My neighbor was bragging about his Prius getting 47 to 50 mpg, so I had him give me his gas reciepts for a month and it calculated out to 39 mpg. All of the car magazines that have tested them show about 40 mpg or less on average. If you prefer to send the profits from your purchases overseas, then don't blame the automakers when the U.S. has to turn to Japan, Korea or China for manufacturing help when the next terrorist attack comes. We already gave away our steel and electronics capacity.
